Successful qualifying for Lorenzo and Spies

The Yamaha Factory Racing pair will start Sunday AirAsia British Grand Prix from third and fourth positions respectively on the grid.

Saturday’s qualifying session for the Silverstone GP came to a successful conclusion for both Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies. The second day of the British round of the 2011 World Championship was graced with sunshine, allowing the riders to finalise a good dry set up. The Yamaha Factory Racing riders were quick from the start in the morning’s final free practice session, wrapping it up with Spies in third and Lorenzo in fourth.

Simoncelli ‘not conscious of the risks’ according to Lorenzo

Jorge Lorenzo expressed his frustration at the first-lap crash with Marco Simoncelli at the Iveco TT Assen, a race in which he remounted his factory Yamaha M1 to finish sixth.

Jorge Lorenzo vented his anger at Marco Simoncelli following the Iveco TT Assen on Saturday, in which the Italian rider collected the reigning World Champion in an opening-lap crash. The pair were both able to remount their bikes, Lorenzo finishing sixth and Simoncelli ninth, but the Yamaha Factory Racing rider’s frustration was evident after the race.

Following the Dutch TT race on Saturday, Valentino Rossi reviewed the performance of the GP11.1 Ducati he used during the Iveco TT Assen weekend - and gave his opinion on the clash between Simoncelli and Lorenzo.

How did you find the GP11.1? Do you think it still needs a lot of work?
"There’s still a lot to do with the bike, there are many aspects to take care of and we can’t expect results to come overnight. Unfortunately, neither my team nor I have much experience with this bike, so we always need more than what’s available. There’s always a problem getting on the track to race with an unknown setting. This morning we could have used a little more time to resolve something, but then it started to rain and the warm-up ended there.

The Repsol Honda rider will be back in action at the Gran Premio d’Italia TIM this weekend, having written about his return from injury in his blog.

Dani Pedrosa will make his much-anticipated return to action at this weekend’s Gran Premio d’Italia TIM, having missed the previous three GPs through injury.

    Iran bicycle racers repeat success two years ago with the rule of the Tour de Singkarak 2011. Three racers Azad University of Iran mastering the final standings TDs ended this afternoon, Sunday, June 12, 2011.

The position occupied by the overall champion Amir Zagari. After seize kunig jacket (yellow jersey) of Ferinanto, United Bike Kencana, the second stage Amir unshakable until the last stage. Amir TDs route as far as 743 kilometers with a record time of 17 hours 42 minutes 01 seconds.

The second and third place also mastered other drivers namely Rahim Azad
Emami and Golakhour Pourseyedi. The success of three Iranian rider
put Azad University as the final top standings TDS 2011.

         Stage 6A Tour de Singkarak 2011,  a distance of 94.6 kilometers. Saturday, June 11, 2011, Holy Brother cyclists Cycling Team, China, Zhao Yiming managed to become the first champion.
- Zhao recorded a best time of 2 hours 16 minutes 52 seconds. The second and third place is occupied Ericson Obosa of 7eleven, the Philippines and Australia Plan B rider, Alex Malone. The three leading riders recorded the same time.
